Troubleshooting
A list or code block does not render
Start each list item with -, * or + or a number and a dot, followed by a space. Code blocks need fences (``` or ~~~); indented code blocks are not supported.
A heading underlined with === or --- shows as text
Setext headings are not supported. Use # at the start of the line instead.
My draft disappeared
Drafts live in this browser only. A private window, a different browser or clearing site data starts empty, so download a .md copy of anything you want to keep.
Frequently asked questions
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. Rendering happens in your browser. A draft is kept in your browser's local storage so a refresh does not lose your work; use Reset to clear it.
Which Markdown features are supported?
Headings, bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code, fenced code blocks, links, nested ordered and unordered lists, task lists, blockquotes, horizontal rules and GitHub-style tables. It is not a complete CommonMark implementation: setext headings, indented code blocks and reference-style links are not supported.
Can I use raw HTML or images?
Raw HTML is displayed as plain text, never executed, to keep previews safe. Images are not loaded; they appear as a placeholder with their alt text. Links are limited to http, https, mailto and in-page anchors.
How do I get the result into another app?
Use Copy HTML to paste the markup elsewhere, or download the document as .md or as a standalone .html file.
